I would love to know about the Kays hamburgers in Maryville, Tn. They had the best burgers very thin and the meat tasted a little different than the real hamburger meat from the grocery store. Does anybody know what kind of burgers those were? Soy burgers maybe? I would love to know, they were delicious!

Hello all,

I was pleased to find this conversation regarding our old home in Knoxville. I can still remember the day my father (Peter) was driving down Woodson drive and slammed on the brakes to take a closer look at the Daniels House. He was instantly drawn to the place and spent the next few years obsessing over every detail. I can recall at least 6" of standing water throughout the downstairs when we first walked into the structure.

30 years later I'm happy to see that the structure still stands and has been brought back to its glory. (There were a few years there when we thought it might slip back into disrepair).

Thanks go out to Justin and Alice for a job well done. Next time in K-Town, I'll try to get in touch to share some memories.

Best,
Rocco

I have had an opened 750 ml bottle of Cusenier Maraschino for 37 years. It is straw wrapped and 34cm tall. I was wondering if you knew if it is still any good, how old it really might be and if it perhaps this is the last one of these on the face of the earth. I cannot find any information on this and would live some health. Thank you. PS Love your blog!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. We at the South Seas Cinema Society have been trying to identify 3 Polynesian dancers for years. They were living in So Cal and were prominent dancers used in the background of many South Seas or Tiki movies. One of three has been identified, a male but the two mystery women have been a challenge. Recently one of the two wahines was named as a Mansfield sister but which sister? With your snooping at the UCLA photo library you corrected this mystery in two ways; one, it was the wrong woman identified as a Mansfield - it was the other mystery wahine, and two, the caption of this photo in the UCLA website names the right Mansfield sister - Telu.

Mahalo nui Swanky we found Telu! (the woman on the right) One more left to find!

I'm a newcomer to the website. Moved from K-Patch to upstate NY (under protest) in 2003. We have a couple of Lustron homes in the area and what looks like an almost completely unmodified on just down the road. Very cool stuff.

So glad I found this site. I heard that George had passed away several years ago and I lost track of him over the years. I guess he played at the 4 seasons over on Lanai for a period. He was a wonderful human being, a friend and we played many rounds of golf together. The Peacock Rest. was fantastic in those days; remember those big back chairs and the rack of lamb but the best was George and his music. I got caught up in a divorce in the 80's with kids in College so I didn't visit Maui for several years. Maui has lost a great talent, a friend and wonderful man. I will miss him dearly. Thanks.

I'd love to have one to keep for my first grandbaby (Leilani) who was just born last year. What a great present to give her when she turns 21.

Anyone interested in selling can contact me at caronbutrum@hotmail.com.
